When you fail the board exams, the only job position you can't apply for is Medical Technologist. This means that you are still eligible to apply for any job that has a minimum requirement of college degree, which you already are. This allows you to think outside the box (tip#1 on my September post on Job hunting http://medtek101.blogspot.com/2012/09/job-hunting.html). Many board passers look for a Med tek position immediately after passing the boards without considering other options. A non-board passer, on the other hand, will choose a non-Med tek job. They must grab this opportunity to look for a better paying job. To make my point directly, they should get a job that has a HIGHER income than that of a Med tek. If you already failed the board exams, why would you get a job that gives something lower than what a Med tek gets. You will just lower yourself more, it's like you stepped on yourself. So instead of pitying, get that sort of sweet revenge by applying for a job that pays better. Ignore all the comments about being less intellectual (if there is any) in case you get a non-Med tek job. There are actually healthcare related jobs that does not require a Med Tek license. These jobs involves mental and physical aspects too, just as much as a Med tek does. Another advantage of failing the exam is the opportunity to take the exam again. Now, you really have the advantage over the first time takers. At least, you already know what pressure you're going to feel, you already took your "mock exam", you are ahead of the others in terms of reviewing your subjects, and you will be closer to God since you will be doing novenas, going to St. Jude every thursday and visiting other churches. In addition, you can also try other licensure exams. Maybe you were meant for AMT or ASCPi or HAAD.
I actually have a few friends who did not pass the board exams and turned out good. Actually, better than good. I have a friend who did not pass the board exam. He got a research type of work and now he owns a condo unit in Manila. He just turned 28. This is a TRUE story. The problem with people is they limit themselves with what they think they only have. What they don't know is that the opportunities around them are boundless. A college degree is still a college degree, with or without a PRC license.
